Arthur went to the window, looking down towards your form on the ground. Tears ran down his face,"M-Mummy...no..." Holding his wand in hand, he tried to do something to save you but to no avail.

"We save save 'er...but you 'ave to come wis us." Francis smirked which already threw Arthur off. "N-No...I-I don't want to go with you..."

"But your mother." The Russian piped up again, pointing your form laying face-down on the gravel. "She'll die if you don't help her."

"N-No...I-I won't...no..." His eyes blared with anger,"Why did you do that to her...? I...HOATA!" The little English boy waved his wand in front of the two as they laughed, only a light enveloping them.

Only after a second did both of them actually begin changing into their human forms only this time, they could never change back. They'd be human now forever.

They fell unconscious to the ground as Arthur floated out, quickly going to your destroyed figure on the ground,"M-Mummy...please don't leave me like Mama did...please..."

Your body felt like an anvil had been dropped on it when you awoke in the hospital. Everything hurt terribly with any move you made. Beside you in the white bed, Arthur lay completely asleep with various-sized bandages on his skin.

Brushing his cheek, you smiled softly at his innocence. His green eyes opened up at the gentle touch, his head turning to face you. "M-Mummy...y-you're okay..."

"Of course I am..." Your voice came out in a hollow whisper. "I wouldn't leave you alone again...come here..." He snuggled close as you enveloped him in a hug and rubbed his back. It didn't matter how much your arms hurt, you were just glad to have your little Arthur back.

It was then that you noticed his little wings were gone. "Arthur...? Are you...mortal...?" He nodded into your shirt, relaxing in your arms. "How did that happen?"

"I dunno..." He murmured softly, pulling himself closer to you. "Mummy...do you still want me...?"

"Do I still...? Of course I do Arthur. Why would you think I wouldn't want you anymore?" You brought him closer to you, pulling his face upwards to look at your face.

His eyes glistened with threatening tears,"B-Because I'm not special anymore..."

"Of course you are..." You kissed his forehead. "You're my special little miracle Arthur..." He sniffled, causing your heart to swell up. You were ble to painfully drag him on top of you, holding him close and brushing his hair,"Please don't cry again Artie...everything is okay..."

"Mhm..." He nodded, fighting back the urge to cry. Smiling, you rubbed his back to coax the tears away. In your arms, his body trembled. "A-Alfred's gone mummy...h-he came into the church and disappeared..."

A sigh escaped your lips. "Well...he's in a better place Arthur...I'm sure of it. Do you want to pray for him?"

He nodded and did exactly that. 'That must mean he was a demon...that's why he couldn't come inside the church even if he wanted to...but he was also the good guy...'

Months passed before you were allowed out of the hospital. Arthur was confirmed to leave in days but refused to leave your side. The doctors had no objections.

The day you arrived back to your house, you were welcomed by two not so new faces. Those two demons were in your home, the Russian one was sitting in your living room watching tv and the French one was cooking in the kitchen.

You scooped Arthur into your arm, holding him protectively,"W-Why are you in my house...? H-He's not an angel anymore..."

"Non, mon cher...we 'ave realized zat we 'ave been given a second chance to do good in zis world." The Frenchman came in, a pan of food in hand,"Why don't you sit down and I'll get you somesing delicious to eat!"

Everything was so confusing, you decided to play along and sit next to the Russian...Ivan was it? You felt cold sitting beside him, the memory of his cold red eyes holding no remorse as he struck you.

He must've notice this for he rested a hand on your shoulder,"I'm sorry about hurting you...we can be friends, da?"

"I-I guess..." You muttered, holding Arthur even closer.

The room fell silent minus the television. Arthur was shaking in your arms, probably from confusion or fear. Maybe both.

"You know it was your little friend here that saved us, da?" You turned towards the silver-haired man, a childish smile resting on his face. "We were looking for him...because if he were transformed into a demon, he would've been really strong. Usually it is the younger angels that have more power.

"But instead he used his powers to save us. Such a special little boy, da?" Arthur leaned his head on your shoulder, curiously looking up towards you. "I think we owe you a thank you little one."

Arthur nodded, hiding once more. You rubbed his back softly, just trying to calm his nerves. "I finished lunch~" The Frenchman broke in, hanging at the doorway to the kitchen,"I 'ope you all enjoy!"

The three of you followed Francis into the kitchen, taking your seats at the center island and serving yourselves. You all were completely silent, not uttering a word at all.

At one point, you just put your fork down and sighed. "Mum...is something wrong...?"

"You killed Alfred..." Was the first thing you could think of before jumping to your feet. "How could you kill such a young boy!? And you come in here begging for forgiveness!?"

"M-Mummy..." Turning your head, your eyes softened seeing Arthur crying. "I d-didn't mean it..."

You scooped Arthur up and kissed his cheeks,"I wasn't yelling at you...you didn't do anything wrong..." Looking towards the two across the table, you shot dark glances. "Come on honey...how about you go rest up."

He nodded, clinging to you as you carried him to your room and laid him down to rest. Going back down to the two, you glared at them. "Listen mon ami...! We don't 'ave the luxury of if we want to or not. Our souls 'ave been sold and we 'ave to do whatever we can to keep ze only thing we can keep."

"It's not like we wanted to do it. We are people you know."

"But Alfred..." You felt yourself crumble and before you knew it, you were on the ground with your face in your hands. Francis went beside you, gripping your shoulders and massaging them lightly. "He was only nineteen...he was such a sweet boy..."

"Don't worry...'e's in a better place..." You nodded, feeling so helpless. While Alfred was out there fighting, you were at home, completely ignoring his advisory to stay inside. "We want to make everyzing up to you...let us stay and help you out wis ze petite Arthur."

In your mind, you battled yourself with the fact that they may hurt your poor Arthur. But something told you to just trust him, both of them. Nodding into his shirt, you pulled yourself together, less Arthur comes downstairs to see you in this state.

"'ow about you lag down wis Arthur..." Francis suggested kindly, helping you stand up. "We'll clean up down 'ere."

You nodded, climbing up the stairs and falling beside Arthur. How things had changed in those first few days you knew Arthur. Now the lonely girl didn't need to cry about being so alone anymore but only from the loss of a young man that no one seemed to remember afterwards.

And for the first time since that week, the sun came out.

When he said HOATA, I thought scones were just going to appear again, and he was going to have a tea break. XD
