You refused to move for any reason. Just sitting still with the blankets over your head. As another clap of thunder boomed overhead, you found yourself burying your face into the sheets to hide.
The door to your room opened and an angered sigh was heard across the room. "__________, get up." The fear you felt didn't even allow you to utter anything back. "Come on. The power just went out and you haven't made a noise for three hours. We need you to help out."
After another short pause, he quickly came over, ripping you out of bed and sending you to the floor. In fear, you went under the bed, shaking in fear. He sunk down to his stomach, pulling you forcefully out by your leg. "Now isn't the time to be playing around _________-"
You quickly grabbed onto him, burying your face in his shirt. "Y-You...you don't like storms, do you?" In his shirt, you shook your head and clung closer as another explosion of thunder boomed outside. Tears began falling as the storm continued outside.
The Swiss' arms wrapped around you form, his chin resting on your head. "If you want, I'll just...leave."
You clung on tighter, shaking your head once more. "S-Stay...d-don't leave me alone...please..."
He shifted slightly, making you cling tightly and squeak in fear. Once more, he sighed before picking you up bridal-style and brought you back into your bed, throwing the covers over your head and his legs. His hand rested atop your head and sheets.
Instinctively, you grabbed his leg and rested your eyes. "Is that better now?" You heard him ask. Smiling, you nodded, snuggling closer to him. "T-That's good then..."
The room fell silent after that was said, minus the storm outside. He began stroking your head after awhile, causing your tail to twitch and a purr to slip by. He didn't seem to mind.
"S-So...__________..." Vash spoke up again, bringing his hands under the covers to brush your hair. "Is there any reason you don't...like...thunderstorms...?"
"Storms...were used as tests for us..." You murmured softly. "They...put us outside and strapped these...metal plates to us...if you died...you were obsolete." You reached up and grabbed his hand, clenching it within your own. " I was hit before...by lightning...I just...every time I hear it, I can only think back to then..."
The Swiss man pulled you up from under the sheets, resting your head on his chest and he pulled it close. "That won't happen again. Okay? How about we go into the other room with Lili and calm down, huh?"
You shook your head, your eyelids drooping in exhaustion. Vash sighed but remained in place, stroking your hair as you began to nod off. His free hand covered your ear and the other one combed through your hair.
He scratched behind your ear, forcing a 'meow' to escape your lips. You heard him chuckle softly before pressing his lips against your forehead gently. His arms enveloped your body and soon relaxed, sliding you both down an inch or two.
His head rested against yours, his gentle breath felt on top of your head. A yawn was heard from him as he started to fall asleep as well. The two of you stayed silent, ignoring the storm bellowing outside and fell asleep.
Lili entered your room, the storm long since passed. The second your door opened, she smiled, seeing you both snuggled close together, Vash's arms wrapped comfortingly around your body.
Shaking her head, she slipped out of the room soundlessly, carefully shutting the door behind her as she left.
