Prologue

  Dead of night, not a single student stirred in the halls. The only noises that could be heard at this time was the sound of rain pounding on the roof, trying to find any small crevice of space it could to leak into the old but still pristine building.

  The school wing was darkened, only the flashes of lightning outside 
Igniting up the halls. Outside each door, there was a silver plate, holding numbers of each room. Beneath the white numbers, Braille for the few blinded students that ever attended.

  In the dormitories, few rooms remain lit, violating the school's strict 'lights out' rule. Only a few students murmured in their rooms, talking softly to each other in hopes that no one would catch them.

  Around midnight, peace shattered. A young girl's scream in the school wing made the dreary, dead mood of the halls come alive. The girl's name was Leona Johansen, a second year student from Canada.

  She busted out of room she was in using the little strength she had left, blue eyes wide with panic. Panic only seen by animals. The prey of the hunt. Backing away from the wooden door, she collapsed as a figure loomed over her.

  The back of her brown hair was now stuck to the condensing window behind her. In front of her was something unread, inhuman even. But in her mind, she knew it was human which made her all the more sick.

  From what she could see, a Dutch third year boy, a first year from Vietnam and a boy in her grade who presumably came from Mexico. All one figure. A monster sewn together by the looks of it.

  There wasn't an option of escape at this point. Looking around feverishly, Leona spent her last futile seconds trying to find some way of escape. Once more, she let out a scream, this time, bloodcurdling in the hopes that someone might hear it.

  Then the school returned to its former peace once again.
