At first, you believed it was your alarm arousing you for the long day ahead. Upon further listening, you realized it was your phone that lay beside you in the sheets ringing/singing you out of your sleep.

Poking around the sheets of your bed, you sought the source of the noise. As soon as your hand hit the phone, you clicked 'send' and groggily brought it to your ear, not even knowing who it was. "Uh...who is this and why are you calling me so late at night..."

"It's like, the morning..." You heard a low voice on the other end which you distinctively identified as Hong Kong,"That doesn't matter...I like, need you to come over... "

"What's wrong...?" You sat up, worry and tire conflicting in your voice,"You sound worried..."

"Can you just like, come...? You can totally stay overnight if you want to..." Grumbling, you pulled yourself out of bed and began packing an overnight bag, not even caring about how much of a mess you probably looked like,"You sound angry..."

"I'm not...I just...I'll be there soon." Hanging up, you dropped the phone in your bag and went out to grab your car keys and go. The sooner you got there and helped him, the sooner you could fall back to sleep.

The ride over was silent, not even the radio on as you cruised down the darkening roads. It took awhile before you safely pulled into the driveway of Hong Kong's home, some lights on, including the one outside the door.

Getting out of the car, you made no attempt to grab your things before going inside unannounced. "Okay Leon, can you please tell me what the heck is going on here-?"

You heard a small meow and paused, looking around where you stood. By the living room entrance, a small kitten lay bandaged up on a discarded pillow, giving you goo goo eyes,"Awww! Look at how cute you are!"

Rushing to its side, you immediately began to stroke it's chocolatey fur. "S-So you found him..." Hong Kong crouched down beside you, wrapping an arm around your waist,"I was walking around earlier and he was just like, there. It looked so like, scared so I brought it here and helped it. But it's totally not eating anything! I'm worried!"

"Why didn't you call Greece?" You murmured, taking the kitten carefully in your arms. It snuggled closer to your body, relaxing gently as you stroked it's fur,"He might be able to help you better...?"

He leaned his head against you, sighing a bit,"I don't know...I thought you'd like, want to help. I gave him food but he like, isn't eating it. I'm just worried and you're always like, so calm 'n stuff..."

You sighed, standing up and carrying the small kitten into the kitchen, hoping that maybe you could find something most cats would actually enjoy eating. Tuna. Sardines. Some sort of fish. If not, Japan's was just a short trip away.

Hong Kong followed curiously behind you, watching as you opened up the fridge and rummaged through until you found a sardine can and unraveled it,"Why do you have these...?" You pondered to yourself as you took out one of the fish and placed the kitten on the ground.

Kneeling beside the kitten, you brought the food nearby and allowed it to inspect it before moving towards it. The kitten looked at it unsure at first before limping towards the food, taking a sniff before nibbling on it. Smiling, you laid the sardine out on the floor and watch as it ate.

"How did you...?" Looking over your shoulder, you noticed Hong Kong's confused face and giggled. Why was he so cute when he was confused? "I mean...he like, didn't eat when I gave him food..."

"What did you give him, exactly?"

  "Rice..."

You mentally face-palmed at his obliviousness,"We can go out tomorrow and buy him some actual food. They don't eat rice Leon." You yawned into your hand, stretching out before laying on the cool kitchen floor. "Carry me?"

Hong Kong sighed from behind before you were lifted in his arms bridal-style. You wrapped your arms around his neck and burried your face in his chest, taking in his sweet scent of rice and cologne as he brought you to his bedroom and laid you down. Before you knew it, he was laying down right beside you.

"Good night..." You mumbled, taking him in your arms and burying your face into the crook of his neck,"I love you..."

By the time you realize what you said, he had tensed up. Opening your eyes, you readied yourself to leave when he pressed his lips softly against yours for a second and nodded off beside you,"I love you too..."

The next morning, you woke up wrapped in Hong Kong's arms. On his chest, the little kitten lay asleep peacefully, purring softly like a motorboat. Giggling, you rested your head on Hong Kong's chest. Too bad that made him move over in his sleep.

Needless to say, the kitten wasn't very happy about being tossed off his makeshift bed.
How many of you assume I'm like some crazy old cat lady?

Well I'm not.

I'm actually a dog person.
Yea. Dogs.

So this was a commission for :icobShannonthehedgehog96:

For those who I haven't gotten to, I'm using time today for a contest entry. I started the Romania insert and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm gunna do with the Germany story. Once I'm done with the entry, I'll jump right back onto yours.

I don't own you or Hetalia!
